Register your rent agreement. If the rent agreement is not registered then UIDAI will reject it. It is also important to scan every page of the rent agreement and upload it separately. If you upload all the pages of the agreement together then they will be rejected. You also have to keep in mind that the rent agreement should be in your name. If it is in the name of your spouse, mother-father or children, then it will not be valid.
The original agreement will not run photocopy
If you change the address in your Aadhaar card on the Self Service Portal, then you will have to scan all the pages of the rent agreement. You can also convert it to PDF format. If you go to the Aadhaar service center and get the address changed in your Aadhaar card, then for this you will have to bring the original copy of your rent agreement with you. If you take a photocopy of it, it will be rejected.

Rent Agreement is one of the list of 44 ID Proofs, which UIDAI declares valid. This includes passport, bank passbook, statement, voter ID card, driving license, telephone bill, water and electricity bill.
