Why is JavaScript called JavaScript, when it has nothing to do with Java?

JavaScript was created by Netscape for their browser and originally named Mocha. Later, Mocha was renamed
LiveScript, In December 1995 when Netscape and Sun did a license agreement and it became JavaScript. And the idea was to make it a complementary scripting language to go with Java, with the compiled language.
Today over 97% of websites use JavaScript.
